How to Update a Contractor's Contract Currency

This article shows how you can change the currency on a contractor's existing contract (for example, switching from PKR to USD).

Before you start: Changing the currency affects how rates, invoices, and future payments are displayed on the contract. If the contractor has open invoices or pending payments in the current currency, review them before making the change.

Steps

  1. Open the contractor's profile. From the sidebar, click Team (or Contractors), then click the contractor's name from the list.

  2. Go to the Contracts tab. On the contractor's profile, select Contracts from the left-side menu. You'll see a list of the contractor's contracts.

  3. Open the contract you want to update. Click the contract name to open it.

  4. Open Contract Details. At the top of the contract page, click the Contract Details link (next to the Contract ID). This opens the Contract Details panel.

  5. Click the Edit icon. In the Overview section of the panel, click the small Edit (pencil) icon. This opens the Edit Contract Basics modal.

  6. Update the currency. Click the Currency dropdown and select the new currency from the list.

  7. Save your changes. Click Save. You'll see a "Profile updated" confirmation at the top of the screen once the change has been applied.

What gets updated

The currency change applies to the contract's basic details. The new currency will be reflected on the contract overview and on invoices and payments going forward.

Need to update the contract rate?

If you also need to change the contractor's rate, use the Edit Pay button at the top of the Contract Details panel. This lets you update the pay amount and rate frequency.
