Step 1: Download an Authenticator App
To enable 2FA on Thera, you will need an authenticator app such as:
Google Authenticator (Android/iOS)
Microsoft Authenticator (Android/iOS)
Authy (Android/iOS)
Download and install your preferred authenticator app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 2: Log in to Your Thera Account using your email and password here
Step 3: Choose an Authentication Method
Thera provides two options for 2FA. Choose 'Set up using Authenticator App'.
A new screen will appear with a QR code and recovery codes.
Step 4: Copy and Save Recovery Codes
Click Copy and paste them into a secure password manager.
Click Download to save them as a file.
Write them down and store them in a safe place.
Step 5: Scan the QR Code with Your Authenticator App
Open your Authenticator App.
Tap on Add Account or the + icon (depending on the app you are using).
Select Scan a QR Code and use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed on Thera.
The app will generate a six-digit verification code linked to your Thera account.
If your phone camera is damaged or unable to scan the QR code, you can use the manual setup key method:
Open your authenticator app and select the option to manually enter a setup key (often labeled as "Enter a setup key" or "Manual entry").
Enter the setup key provided during the 2FA setup process on Thera.
Use the generated 6-digit code to complete the verification process.
Step 6: Enter the Verification Code
After scanning the QR code, return to Thera.
Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app into the verification field.
Click Verify.
Step 7: Final Confirmation and Completion
Once your verification code is accepted, Thera will confirm that 2FA is enabled.
You can log out and attempt to log in again to test the 2FA setup.
After entering your email and password, Thera will prompt you for a six-digit code from your authenticator app.
Enter the code and log in successfully.
Congratulations! You have successfully enabled Two-Factor Authentication on Thera, adding an extra layer of security to your account.
How to Reset 2FA
If you need to reset and reconfigure 2FA on a new device, follow these steps:
Request a 2FA Reset: Contact Thera support to request a reset. Once the reset is complete, you can reconfigure 2FA on your new device.
Sign In to Your Account: After the reset, log in to your Thera account using your email and password.
Access Security Settings: Navigate to the Security or Two-Factor Authentication section in your account settings.
Choose a 2FA Method: Select your preferred 2FA method, such as an authenticator app.
Complete the Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the QR code or enter the setup key. Confirm the setup by entering the verification code generated by your chosen method.
Note: If you encounter an “OTP verification failed” error while setting up 2FA, make sure you select “Replace” (or equivalent) in your authenticator app when scanning the QR code, rather than using an existing/old OTP entry. This ensures the new QR code is correctly linked to your Thera account. Most setup issues occur when an old authenticator entry is reused instead of replacing it with the newly generated QR code.
If you lose access to your 2FA device, contact Thera support to reset your 2FA and follow the setup steps again.
If your phone camera is damaged, use the manual setup key method described in Step 5.
If your verification code is not working, ensure your device's time settings are accurate, as time discrepancies can cause code mismatches.
