Thera Advance - Fees and Repayment Guide

This guide explains exactly how Thera Advance fees are calculated and how repayment works. We want you to have full clarity before you withdraw so there are no surprises.

What is Thera Advance?

Thera Advance lets you access earnings before payday. Once you're approved, you can withdraw a portion of your expected earnings before your pay period ends. The advance is automatically repaid from your next payroll disbursement - you don't need to do anything manually.

How Fees Are Calculated

Your fee is calculated at the moment you request a withdrawal, based on how many days are left until your current pay period ends.

Days remaining until pay period ends

Fee rate

20 days or fewer

3%

More than 20 days

5%

Minimum Fee:

$25 Regardless of the fee percentage, the minimum fee is always $25. If 3% or 5% of your withdrawal amount works out to less than $25, you will be charged $25.

Total You Repay

Total repayment = Withdrawal amount + Fee

For example, if you withdraw $500, your total repayment is $525.

The fee is shown to you clearly before you confirm your withdrawal, so you always know exactly what you'll owe.

When Is Repayment Collected?

Repayment is automatic - it is deducted from your next payroll disbursement. You do not need to send money, set up any payment, or take any action.

The 5-Day Repayment Window

Repayment deduction begins 5 days before your pay period end date. This is the window during which Thera will collect what you owe from your payroll payment.

Example timeline:
• Your pay period ends on the 30th of the month
• Repayment window opens on the 25th
• If your payroll is processed anytime from the 25th onward, the repayment and fee are deducted automatically before the remainder is sent to you

This means you always receive your net amount (pay minus advance repayment and fee) in a single disbursement — clean and simple.

What Happens to My Payroll Payment

When your payroll is processed inside the repayment window, here is the order of deductions:

  1. Fee is deducted first

  2. Principal (the amount you withdrew) is deducted second

  3. Whatever remains is sent to you as your net pay

Example:

• Gross payroll: $2,000
• You withdrew: $500 advance

• Fee: $25
• Total deducted: $525
• You receive: $1,475

If your payroll payment in any given cycle is smaller than what you owe, the available amount is applied in the same order (fees first, then principal). Any remaining balance carries over and is collected from your next payroll.

What If My Contract Ends?

If your contract with your company is terminated while you have an outstanding advance, Thera will recover the outstanding balance (principal + fees) from the next available payroll payment, regardless of the repayment window. This is to protect both you and Thera from unresolved balances.

What currencies are available for Thera Advance?

Thera Advances are always in US dollars. Withdrawals and repayments are processed in USD only.

Can I settle my Advance repayment in a non-USD currency?

No, repayment of a Thera Advance must be made in US dollars.
If your contract is not in USD, Thera will automatically convert funds from your contract currency to dollars to settle your Advance repayment.
