Why hasn’t my withdrawal reflected in my bank account even though it shows as completed?

Why hasn’t my withdrawal reflected in my bank account even though it shows as completed?

When a withdrawal is marked as "completed" in Thera, it means the funds have been sent to your payment provider or bank for processing. However, additional time may be required for the funds to reflect in your bank account due to various factors. Below, we explain the key aspects of withdrawal processing and what you can do if delays occur.

Understanding Withdrawal Statuses

  • Completed: This status indicates that Thera has sent the funds to your payment provider or bank. However, the funds may still be undergoing processing by the receiving bank or payment provider.

  • Delivered: This status means the payout is in the final stage of reaching your bank. It is normal for there to be a delay between "delivered" and the funds appearing in your account.

Typical Processing Times

  • ACH Transfers: These typically take 1–2 business days to complete. Weekends and U.S. bank holidays do not count toward processing time, which can cause delays.

  • Standard Transfers: Funds usually reflect within 48 hours. For SWIFT transfers, settlement can take up to 3 business days.

  • Bank-Specific Delays: Depending on the receiving bank’s processing times, it can take up to 3 business days for the funds to post.

Reasons for Delays

  • Bank Processing Times: Even after Thera sends the funds, your bank may require additional time to post the transaction to your account.

  • Weekends and Holidays: These are not considered business days and can delay both processing and status updates.

  • Compliance Checks: Withdrawals may be held for additional verification, such as confirming your country of residence or verifying account ownership.

Steps to Take if Funds Are Delayed

  1. Check the Processing Window: Ensure the expected processing time (up to 3 business days) has passed.

  2. Review Your Bank Statement: If the funds have not appeared after the processing window, obtain a copy of your bank statement to confirm the transaction.

  3. Contact Support: If delays persist, provide the requested documents, such as a government-issued ID or bank statement, to help resolve the issue.

Additional Verification and Compliance Checks

In some cases, withdrawals may be subject to compliance checks. If these checks are not completed successfully, the funds will be returned to your Thera balance, allowing you to initiate the withdrawal again. By understanding the withdrawal process and following these steps, you can address delays effectively and ensure your funds reach your account as expected.
